Lawn care quote calculator

Lawn care lives or dies on recurring customers. A calculator that prices per visit and per season makes the recurring option obviously better value.

Change the frequency and watch the season total move.

Build your own version of this

Change the rates, the labels and the maths to match your business, then export it as a single HTML file you paste into your site. Free, no account, and it keeps working whatever happens to us.

Sell the season, not the visit

A per-visit price invites comparison shopping against whoever quotes lowest. Showing the season total alongside it reframes the decision as a service relationship rather than a transaction, and makes the frequency discount tangible.

Show the monthly average too. Spreading a season total across the months is how customers actually budget, and a figure that sounds manageable per month closes better than a lump sum.

Protect your floor

Small lawns are where lawn care businesses lose money, because drive time doesn't shrink with lot size. Set a minimum call-out and enforce it with max(callout, size / 1000 * rate) so a 400 square foot lawn still prices at something you'd get out of bed for.

Price add-ons as flat amounts rather than percentages. Edging takes about the same time regardless of lot size, and customers find flat add-on pricing easier to trust.

Make the discount do the work

Label the frequency options with the discount visible — "Every 2 weeks (−15%)" — rather than hiding it in the maths. The visible discount is what moves someone from one-off to recurring, which is the whole objective.

One-off jobs should carry a premium, not a penalty framing. Setting the one-time multiplier above 1 rather than describing recurring as "discounted" reads better and protects your margins on the jobs that cost you most.

Questions

Can I price by lot size instead of lawn size?

Yes. Change the label and adjust the rate per 1,000 units. The formula doesn't care what the number represents.

Can I add fertilising, aeration or leaf removal?

Yes — add a checkbox for each with the flat price as its ticked value, and add it into the per-visit formula.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. The exported calculator is responsive and the headline figure scales down on small screens.

One file. No subscription. No expiry.
