Unkillable Tools / Calculator / Roofing cost calculator
Roof replacement is a high-consideration purchase with an enormous price range, which makes it close to ideal for an instant estimator.
Live and fully working. This is exactly what you would embed.
Change the rates, the labels and the maths to match your business, then export it as a single HTML file you paste into your site. Free, no account, and it keeps working whatever happens to us.
Open the builderArea. Roof area, not floor area — a roof is bigger than the footprint it covers, and homeowners consistently underestimate it. Ask for the footprint and apply the pitch multiplier yourself rather than asking a homeowner to measure a roof.
Pitch. Steeper roofs cost more per square foot because they're slower and more dangerous to work on. A multiplier from roughly 1.0 for walkable up to about 1.6 for very steep tracks reality well.
Material. The single biggest swing, from basic asphalt shingle up to slate at four or five times the price. A dropdown with per-square-foot values keeps this simple.
Tear-off. Removing existing layers is priced per layer and is often forgotten in a homeowner's mental estimate, which is exactly why it belongs in the calculator — it manages expectations before you're on the phone.
Nobody can price a roof accurately from four inputs, and pretending otherwise creates an argument later. A range of roughly −10% to +12% around your calculated figure is defensible and sets up the inspection conversation properly.
Add a note under the result stating what would move the number: access, decking replacement, permits, and skylights or chimneys. Homeowners respect a calculator that tells them what it doesn't know.
On your services page and on any location page you rank for. Roofing search is intensely local, and a page that ranks for "roof replacement cost [city]" with a working estimator on it will out-convert a page of text about your company history.
Turn on lead capture so the estimate arrives in your inbox alongside the homeowner's contact details. Being able to open with "I see you're looking at around 1,800 square feet with a tear-off" is worth a great deal.
Yes, and you should. The default per-square-foot values are plausible mid-range figures for illustration. Open the builder, change the dropdown values and the hidden fixed-rate fields to your real pricing, and re-export.
Yes — the material dropdown is just a list of label/value pairs. Add, remove or reorder them freely.
Show a range and add the note about what changes it. Presented that way it reads as a professional estimate, which is what it is.
